Police rescue errant Shamim from his house in Lucknow

LUCKNOW - The-39-hour-long stand off between mentally disturbed youth Shamim and police ended here this evening as police succeeded in bringing him out of his room.

Shamim locked himself in a room in the first floor of his house and started firing indiscriminately.

The incident occurred in Bakshi Ka Talaab area of the city.

Shamim also set fire to part of his house.

Shamim was using his father’s licensed revolver to fire. He even fired at the police party, which tried to persuade him to come out of the room.

The youth’s family members called the police, when they failed to control him. (ANI)
