Security beefed up in Goa following Pune blast

GOA - Security has been beefed up at Goa, particularly at the venues of the ongoing Carnival parades the wake of a deadly bomb blast in Pune.
Talking to reporter here on Monday, Ravindra S Yadav, Deputy Inspector General of Police said that security has been beefed up at all crowded places.
“Keeping in view the ongoing carnival procession at various places in Goa, our staff is deployed at all the crowded places where large number of footfalls and tourist places like beaches and we have also upgraded security (at places), which are vulnerable targets,” he added.
Additional security has been deployed at the Chabad House, a Jewish prayer, located in Anjuna, about 20 kilometres from the state’s capital Panaji. Every year, hundreds of Israeli tourists frequent the Chabad house.
Police have also enhanced security at the German Bakery restaurant in Arambol.
Police are also sensitising shopkeepers, taxi drivers and others about any suspicious persons or objects. (ANI)
