PENNSYLVANIA - Sam Wurzelbacher, the man popularly known as “Joe the Plumber” during the 2008 US presidential campaign, and who was seen as the square-shouldered mascot of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, today is embittered enough to say that he does not owe anyone anything.

Lashing out at the veteran US senator from Arizona for “screwing up” his life, Wurzelbacher told a public radio reporter: “I don’t owe him shit.”

He was speaking after addressing a small political meeting in Pennsylvania.

When asked about McCain, he said: “He really screwed up my life, is how I look at it.”

Wurzelbacher was thrust into the headlines worldwide just a few weeks before the elections when McCain made repeated reference to him during one of the televised presidential debates.

The two men had met days before and Wurzelbacher had voiced fears about likely tax increases if Barack Obama were to become president.

The unexpected notoriety caused instant problems, with reports the next day that he practiced plumbing without a license.

Wurzelbacher clearly feels no gratitude towards McCain.

“McCain was trying to use me. I happened to be the face of middle Americans. It was a ploy,” The Independent quoted him, as saying.urzelbacher said he is supporting the Tea Party Movement. (ANI)
