BOLANGIR - In a bid to prevent the tribal youth from getting lured by the Maoists, the Indian Army on Monday (Feb.15) launched a recruitment drive in Orissa.
The objective of this initiative is also to involve the tribal youth in constructive means of livelihood, as the Army believes that because of their physical strength and mental alertness, the tribal youth are an ideal choice for the armed forces.
“These tribal boys are mentally very robust and physically tough so it proves beneficial for us, as they are already half trained soldiers. They are good potential soldiers for us,” said Colonel Naveen Kumar.
