High alert in India after Pune blast

DELHI/MUMBAI/LUCKNOW/JAIPUR - Security agencies are on high-alert across India after a terror strike in Pune, in which nine persons, including three foreigners were killed and over 50 injured on Saturday.

In Delhi, special security has been provided at crowded areas like IGI Airport, railway stations, ISBTs and markets.

Delhi Police officials are reviewing security in the city.

Police have also appealed to citizens to report any suspicious movement or object to its nearest staff or on emergency call numbers. Additional forces have also been deployed at the Delhi Metro stations.

In Mumbai, security has been beefed up at important places in the city including railway stations on Central, Western and Harbour lines, domestic and international airports and places of worship in the city.

In Uttar Pradesh, All district police chiefs have been asked to maintain a special vigil at important places including markets, railway and bus stations and undertake intensive checking at all places.

In Rajasthan, all places including railway stations, bus stands, hotels, inns are being checked thoroughly in all the districts. (ANI)
