15 Telangana MLAs resign protesting Srikrishna panel ToR

HYDERABAD - At least 15 MLAs of the Andhra Pradesh assembly belonging to Telangana region submitted their resignation to the assembly speaker N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday evening.
Those who quit their seats included 10 members representing Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), two Congress members, one each from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators and the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP).
The members met speaker in his chamber at the assembly building in Hyderabad.
The members put their papers in protest against the terms of reference (ToR) for the Srikrishna Committee announced by the Centre.
This unanimous decision came after a day of dramatic developments including the TRS allowing its representatives to resign.
The Congress members resigned violating the leadership warning that resignation would literally seal their fate politically.
Members said that even if their resignation is not accepted they would not attend the Andhra Pradesh assembly budget session starting from Monday.
TRS leader K.Taraka Rama Rao said the agitation would continue till they get a positive statement in favour of Telangana from the Centre.
Congress MLA Damodar Reddy said most of the members of 53 legislator of his party who were hailing from Telangana region want to resign.
Reddy also claimed that he is in touch with fellow legislators. (ANI)
