Bangladesh eyes good bilateral relations with India

AGARTALA - Bangladesh Industries Minister Dilip Barua eyeing good bilateral relations with India, has asked the Indian business community for direct investment in his country.
Barua said that India and Bangladesh would be mutually benefited with the investment process.
He further said that Bangladesh has emerged as an investment friendly destination after the new government assumed the office.
Barua said, “The present government has identified some emerging industries including power, telecommunication, infrastructure like roads or elevated roads, or for that matter what the Indian industrialist feel that has prospect, it may be joint venture.”
“But our thrust sectors are shipbuilding, IT (Information Technology), ceramic, leather, agro based and so they (Indian investors) can easily invest in these sectors,” added Barua.
He claimed that Bangladesh is a very secure nation against terrorism of any kind.
Barua said, “There is no place for any kind of terrorism in Bangladesh because ours is a democratic government and hence we think in a democratic way.”
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would not allow any militant forces to use the soil of Bangladesh,” he added. (ANI)
