SHIMLA - Himachal Pradesh will soon have its own industrial security force on the pattern of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Forest Minister J.P. Nadda said Sunday.

“The state has registered massive investments in industry, hydropower and tourism sectors in recent years and a need has been felt to create exclusive force for maintaining industrial peace and law and order,” he said, while speaking at the chief ministers’ conference on internal security in New Delhi.

Nadda requested the central government to provide necessary infrastructure and resources to set up a modern commando training centre in the state.

He also asked it to provide 75 per cent assistance for police modernisation in view of the tough geographical conditions in the state.

Nadda also asked for release of the pending payment of Rs.20 crore to the state as grant-in-aid for raising an India Reserve Battalion (IRB).
