Curfew imposed in four police stations limits in Srinagar

SRINAGAR - Business establishments and educational institutions were shutdown as curfew was imposed in four police station limits in the city to prevent any untoward incidents following a protest over the death of a teenager on Sunday.

Markets were closed and traffic was off the roads, as the normal life remained hit for the fourth consecutive day.

However, in the Civil Lines area, barring Batmaloo, Maisuma, Basant Bagh and Gaw Kadal, there were no restrictions on movement.

The State Government has made elaborate security arrangements to foil any untoward incident.

The district administration has however, issued prohibitory orders.ccording to locals, police vans fitted with public address system went round the city this morning announcing a curfew.

A Sixteen-year-old Wamik Farooq, a resident of Rainawari was killed by a teargas shell in Rajouri Kadal during a clash between the police and a mob on Sunday.
