DANTEWADA - Three election officials injured in a landmine blast, triggered by suspected Maoist rebels in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.

The incident took place near Mokpal village when around 40 election officials were on their way for the panchayat polls, when their vehicle drove over a landmine.

“Suddenly there was a loud bang and our bus lost control…the explosion also broke the glasses and smoke started billowing in the bus…we didn’t understand what had happened,” said Promod Padi, an election official.

The injured were admitted to the government hospital.

Security has been tightened in and around the area following the incident. (ANI)
