MUMBAI - A couple was rescued with the help of fire brigade personnel and locals residents after a high tide trapped them on rocks in the sea during a high tide in Mumbai on Monday.
The incident took place at city’s Bandra beach, where the couple, in their early twenties, was stuck after a hour long operation by rescue officials.
Meanwhile, the officials have urged locals to take care of high tides while visiting sea beaches.
“We request the people who come to enjoy the beach that they should beware of high tides and low tides. The water level of the sea rises during high tides and keeping this in view they should remain at the shore. There is no point in enjoying the sea at the risk of the life,” said Rajesh Shinde, a fire brigade officer.
Bandra beach, quite popular among locals, has witnessed a number of mishaps in the past.
Police have taken a number of precautionary measures and issued warnings from time to time but locals said such warnings go unheeded. (ANI)
