This is the second attack on vehicles carrying the security personnel in this month.

Earlier on January 15, seven security personnel were killed in a similar attack in Jharkhand’s Gumla District

In another incident, two workers of the National Mining Development Corporation (NMDC) were injured in Acheli area of Dantewada district, when the Maoists triggered a landmine blast.

The incidents have fortified the Government’s determination to put a stop to mindless violence which harms development.

Chidambaram had repeatedly urged all concerned - State Government, political parties, media, civil society and common citizens - to understand the true nature of the Naxal menace and “resolve to put an end to Naxalism.” (ANI)
