GANDHINAGAR - The Indian Air Force (IAF) has heightened its air defence alert following intelligence inputs of terrorists using para-gliders to attack around Republic Day, officials here said Monday.

A defence ministry spokesman in Ahmedabad said one of the IAF radars in Kutch had picked up a suspicious track Sunday evening.

“A prompt air defence action was initiated by the IAF. However, no hostile air activity was detected,” the spokesman said.
