Kolkatans enthralled by dog show in the city

KOLKATA - Thousands of dog lovers flocked the venue to catch a glimpse of a dog-show as around 300 dogs belonging to variety of species participated in the event.
The show witnessed dogs of all sizes. The smallest one to participate was ten months old dog called Chi Hua Hua, whereas the longest one to participate was six-feet dog of Great Dane breed.
Dogs of breeds like Spitz, Dachshund, Golden Retriever, Neapolitan Mastiff, Saint Bernard, Cocker Spaniel, Saluki, and English Mastiff walked on the runway along with their owners with pride.
Souradeep Das, the proud owner of Great Dane said, “This is one of the largest breeds ever found in dog history. This dog is usually used for guard purposes but we haven’t bought it for that purpose.
“In this breed, the male dogs are taller but the females are five to six inches shorter than the male dog and it is a very friendly dog,” added Das.
Sayani Chakrabarty, the owner of Chi Hua Hua said, “This is a Mexican dog known as Chi Hua Hua. This is supposed to be the smallest dog in this planet.”
“It weighs not more than 3 kilograms and the maximum height is one foot,” she claimed.
The show had six categories- two for puppies and four for various age categories of dogs. (ANI)
