Holland expert trains tulip growers in Kashmir

SRINAGAR - A Dutch tulip expert is helping a dozens of growers in the Kashmir Valley acquire knowledge of new techniques at the famous tulip garden in Srinagar.

“I will give them training about how to plant. I will give them tips how to arrange green house temperature, how to use stuff besides bulbs, may be I will also give them some info about how to arrange things for easy combination of tulip planting, bringing Tulips to the greenhouse,” Henk Van Voorbergen.

“The aim of the training is to aware people of how can they use tulip growing for professional use as well,” he added.

People being trained said they were delighted and thankful to the horticulture department for the expertise being provided. They expect more of such workshops to be held in the future as well.

“This is very beneficial for us as we get to learn a lot. Moreover, we don’t have such trainings here as it is grown in Holland,” said Masarat Jan, a tulip grower. (ANI)
