‘Penis-burning’ Indian Australian wife on murder charge
By ANIFriday, January 22, 2010
MELBOURNE - An Indian Australian wife who allegedly set fire to the genitals of her husband in 2008 has been charged with killing him.
Rajini Narayan, 44, who appeared briefly in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, has been charged with murder, arson and endangering life, reports News.com.au.
Her husband Satish Narayan suffered major burns after the incident and died several weeks later.
The fire also gutted the family’s suburban Unley home.
According to a previous court hearing, Ms Narayan had told neighbours: “I’m a jealous wife, his penis should belong to me.
“I just wanted to burn his penis so it belongs to me and no one else … I didn’t mean this to happen.”
The case has been adjourned until March 12. (ANI)
