NEW YORK - Massachusetts’ new U.S. Senator-elect Scott Brown suffered embarrassment during his acceptance speech when he said that both his daughters were ‘available’.
The leader was referring to his family including TV reporter wife Gail Huff, and their daughters, Ayla, an ‘American Idol’ finalist, and Arianna, when he made the error.
“As always, I rely on Gail’s love and support, and that of our two lovely daughters. So I want to thank Ayla and Arianna for their help as well,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.
He added: “Just in case anyone who’s watching throughout the country, yes they’re both available.”
Hearing the politician, the crowd started to hoot, while annoyance became apparent in the face of daughter Arianna, and his wife Gail.
Brown tried to save grace adding: “No, no. No. Only kidding, only kidding. Only kidding, only kidding. Arianna… Arianna’s, definitely not available. But Ayla is.”
Brown concluded: “I can see I’m going to get in trouble when I get home.” (ANI)
