MELBOURNE - Prince William has confessed that he lacks the same affinity with children as his late mother Princess Diana.
The second in line to the British throne arrived in Australia after representing grandmother Queen Elizabeth II on his first official overseas trip in New Zealand.
The 27-year-old visited a community centre in Sydney where he took time out of his packed schedule to read the Adventures of Possum Magic and play computer games with the children.
“I wouldn’t say I was anywhere near her level. She had a fantastic affinity with kids and with everyone. I just go and meet people and just enjoy their company,” News.com.au quoted him as saying earlier.
The prince was later taken aback after a six-year-old girl asked him “Did your mummy die?”, to which the royal bowed slightly and immediately replied: “Yes she did, it was pretty sad”, the site said. (ANI)
