Musical extravaganza to promote peace, harmony in Northeast states

GUWAHATI - A musical event, which included the participation of hundreds of musicians, was held to promote peace and harmony in Assam.
Hundreds of artists played sitars and violins to the beats of the Tabla at the Kalashetra.he event was organized by TALIM; a Guwahati based musical institution, with the purpose of spreading peace and harmony.
Musicians from all over Assam participated in the event. The musical fest was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
“We are able to see unity here, as we all met together and seeing 100 artists playing together was a blessing for eyes. And it was a completely different experience,” said Santosh Maheshwari, Audience.
“These days we can witness a lot of terrorism in the state. People are getting averse to the feeling of sweetness of music and brotherhood. So to remind people about this feeling of brotherhood, this event was organized,” said Rashmi a participant.
“Also Assam is a very beautiful and a quiet place and there is so much terrorism here, so to spread message of peace we organized this programme. (Insert) In the end terrorism will lose and music and peace will win,” she added.
For the past three decades militancy in Assam has created instability and affected development.
But with the situation changing fast, it seems peace and normalcy will soon return the region. (ANI)
