BIKANER - With a view to attracting youth towards the defence forces, the Indian Army recently organized an exhibition of arms and ammunitions here.
The army had put up exhibits like firing ranges, and special operation drills that drew quite a crowd, at the Karni Singh Stadium.
Army officials said that such interaction was necessary to acquaint people better with the ground situation of the Indian Army.
“This exhibition has been organized to make the civilians aware of the Indian Army and their services, how the forces function during a war situation, in areas where insurgency is rampant, and during peace,” explained Major General K S Kumbar, of the Ranbakur Division.
Many young visitors said the exhibits, especially the improvised firing range, were very inspiring.
” feel proud that our Army is so well equipped with the advanced arms and ammunitions. These exhibitions should be organized more frequently to encourage the youth and motivate them. I think our country is ready for any challenge that comes in her way,” said Shivraj, a visitor.
The use of weapons, movement of tanks and para-jumping were other draws at the exhibition.
The Arjun Tank, radars and various weapons were among the fascinating displays in the exhibition.
