PUNE - Designer Vikram Phadnis showcased his bridal collection for the grand finale show of Pune Fashion Week held here on Sunday.
The designer described his collection for the show as flamboyant and straightly out of the box.
The colour palette included sky blue, crhme’, maroon, red, sea green and orange.
“It was a fusion collection. When I signed up with Pune Fashion Week for the finale, I realised that it had to be something out of the box, it had to be flamboyant, it had to be larger than life and I think it was just apt to close a show by, where I showed saris, a fusion collection and a bridal wear. So for me it was important that the finale should be treated like a finale. It should not be just another show. So I worked really hard on this collection,” said Vikram Phadnis.
Bollywood actor Amrita Rao looked ravishing as the show stopper for the evening as she adorned a traditional bridal wear.
” I am completely enjoying what I am wearing today. It’s in itself a celebration. I think that’s a big day for any woman when she is getting married. Like the whole attention is on her, the spotlight goes on her. She looks her best and feels like a princess and if you have something so unique apparel to sport, I think obviously it makes all the difference,” said Amrita Rao.
With big names like Vikram Phadnis, Salim Asgarally, Archana Kochhar, Shaina NC, Nishka Lulla, Nivedita Saboo, Moushmi Sanas, Vikrant and Jega, Prachi Badve, Leepakshi Ellawadi and Seema Singh participating, the fashion week ended with the promise of putting Pune on the fashion map for the hot trends and styles originating there.
Pune Fashion Week was aimed at trying and getting all possible resources together and generating a win-win situation. (ANI)
