LAHORE - Pakistan Interior Ministry’s National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) has warned that Tehreek-e-Taliban, the Pakistani Taliban, may target newspaper offices and renowned journalists across the country.

According to intelligence agencies’ reports, the Taliban are not happy with Pakistan’s media policy and want to teach the media a lesson.

The attack on the Peshawar Press Club can be seen in this context, they said.

The NCMC has sent circulars to the provincial Governments, police and other law-enforcement agencies to put security on high alert in order to protect newspaper offices and journalists, The Daily Times reports.

According to the reports, the Taliban is offended by media reports, which present them as villains. (ANI)
