Youth Festival begins in Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR - Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr. MS Gill is expected to inaugurate the fifteenth National Youth Festival that begins at the Kalinga Stadium here on Friday.
Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Pratik Prakashbapu Patil will be present at the inaugural ceremony.
Around 5,000 delegates from across the country are expected to take part in this five-day festival showcasing India’s rich and multi-faceted culture.
A number of cultural traditions have been organised to mark the inaugural function. The armed forces are all set to perform the daredevil feats. State of the art laser shows and international standard fireworks will also be held on the occasion.olk dances of Orissa would be the main attraction of the function. The teams from other States will also come with their traditional attire.
Eminent Bollywood singers Hans Raj Hans, Babul Supriyo and Usha Uthup are expected to add charm to the celebrations.
Bollywood Actor Suniel Shetty and Olympic medal winning wrestler Vijender Singh are participating as youth ambassadors.
Security arrangements have been tightened and around 54 platoons of police personnel have been deployed to monitor the event. (ANI)
