Correction: Hidden Explosives story
DUBLIN — In a Jan. 6 story about an explosive hidden by Slovak authorities in an unsuspecting traveler’s check-in bag as part of a security test, The Associated Press reported erroneously in the headline that the man was jailed. The man was taken into police custody but he was not jailed. The airport where the test occurred, Poprad-Tatry Airport, is located in central Slovakia, not Bratislava. Also, France stopped such tests in 2004 after losing track of more than 100 grams, not ounces, of explosives planted in a passenger’s suitcase.
