NEW YORK - Elizabeth Edwards has decided that it is time that she and her husband John met his illegitimate daughter from his mistress Rielle Hunter.
A heartbroken Elizabeth reportedly has a soft spot for her husband’s alleged love child.
The former presidential candidate has been in negotiations with the woman he dated while his wife was in remission from cancer for child support.
Not only is Edwards going to meet Frances, who turns 2 in February, she is also urging John to pay the nearly 18,000 dollars in support that her mother, Rielle Hunter, is asking for, according to a report in the National Enquirer.
The Enquirer quoted “a close source” as saying that the meeting will take place “over the next few weeks.”
“Despite her anger at Rielle, who she’s painted as a stalker and a home wrecker, Elizabeth knows Frances didn’t bring any of this about,” the source said.
“Elizabeth sometimes breaks down in tears when talks about Frances. Once she said, she needs a daddy.”
Court documents that revealed the money battle between the former lovers and implied that Edwards is indeed the father, emerged in December, the Daily News reports.
According to the source, Elizabeth also wants John to settle to avoid any further embarrassment.
“As much as she hates that John has a second family, she can’t stand the idea of Rielle going public with their dirty laundry in court,” the Enquirer quoted the source, as saying. (ANI)
