ESL Narasimhan takes charge as Andhra Pradesh Governor

HYDERABAD - Chhattisgarh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan was today sworn-in as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh following the resignation of N.D. Tiwari in the wake of a controversy over a sex scandal allegedly involving the latter.
Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court A.R. Dave administered oath of office to Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan here.
State Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, his cabinet colleagues, Chief Secretary Ramakanth Reddy and other top officials attended the ceremony.
Narasimhan was given additional charge following Tiwari’s resignation.
Narasimhan, a former Director of the Intelligence Bureau, will hold additional charge of Andhra Pradesh until a regular Governor is appointed.
Narasimhan is a 1968 batch IPS officer of the AP cadre. His appointment comes in the middle of bitter struggle over the bifurcation of the state, and his inputs would be considered valuable. (ANI)
