Terrorist Attack in Detroit: How Nigerian Terrorist Abdul Mudallad Tried Blowing Up Delta Flight 253

Detroit, (GaeaTimes.com)- This was a journey that all the passengers of Flight 253 would surely never forget. A terrorist attack by one of the passengers of the flight was foiled as the flight was just about to land in Detroit after completing its journey from Amsterdam. Authorities have revealed that the terrorist, who claims to have connections with Al-Qaeda, is Nigerian terrorist Abdul Mudallad.

Passengers who were on the Flight 253 have expressed that Nigerian terrorist Abdul Mudallad tried to blow up the plane when he attempted to set off some explosive. Initially, the 278 passengers of the flight thought that it must have been some firecracker after they heard some noises and smoke filled the air. However, Nigerian terrorist Abdul Mudallad attempt to blow up the Flight 253 did not go according to the plan as few passengers and crew members in the plane managed to overpower the terrorist although at least two passengers are reported to have received injuries.

Meanwhile, U.S Intelligence authorities later revealed that the explosive device that the Nigerian Terrorist Abdul Mudallad wanted to detonate consisted of blend of powder and liquid. After the flight landed safely in Detroit, the terrorist was taken into custody and has been questioned by the Intelligence officials. Although, Abdul Mudallad has claimed to have undertaken the mission to blow up Flight 253 following the instructions received by Al-Qaeda, authorities have not validated the claim till now. Moreover, supposedly officials are also not ruling out the possibility that Nigerian terrorist Abdul Mudallad might have acted independently. However, the 23 year old Nigerian’s name does not appear in the no-fly list but supposedly he is suspected to have links with terrorist outfits.
