Cloud remains over outcome of Copenhagen climate talks: Mohan Bhagwat

PATNA - Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat has said there is no clarity over the outcome of the Copenhagen climate talks.
Addressing RSS workers here on Friday, Bhagwat said: “There were serious discussions on the problem (on climate change) in Copenhagen recently, there was dispute on what should be done. Some people say there was some solution; while others say there was no solution. What happened, we don’t know. There is no clarity on the talks and the outcome. Until the people who participated in the talks do not come out with clarity, nothing would be known on the grave issue.”
Bhagwat also drew the attention of the concerned to external problems facing India, including terrorism and Jammu and Kashmir conundrum with Pakistan, border disputes with China, the problem of infiltration in relation to Bangladesh and the simmering new problem on the India-Burma border.
“No meaningful diplomatic initiatives have been made. Speeches are being made by all quarters, but nothing seems to be being done to protect India’s interests and sovereignty,” Bhagwat said.
Bhagwat, who is on a three-day tour of Bihar, was addressing over 15,000 people at Gandhi Maidan during his felicitation function by the Sangh’s Bihar cadre. (ANI)
