THREE BURIED ALIVE UNDER A WALL, TWO IN CRITICAL STATE

AGRA JUNE 5: Three persons anwering nature’s call early Saturday died on the spot as a wall fell over them.
Two others were admitted to the emergency where doctors said their condition was critical.
Etmauddaula thana police said the wall being constructed on a plot behind the Jain temple between Nawalganj and Hanuman Nagar tilted and fell as a result of an “andhi” early morning. People of dalit basties in the area defecate against the wall as there are no toilets, the one community toilet that is there remains locked, according to the local residents who have on several occasions agitated.
Two of the three dead are daily wage earners working as labourers, the third is a 16 year old student.
SDM Etmadpur Dheerendra Sachan has promised the dependents of the families compensation from the state, Rs 1.20 lakh to the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
Meanwhile the local MP Ram Shankar Katheria and other politicians accused the fire brigade and the police of delaying rescue operations.
Those dead are Kundan Singh, 40, Udai Singh 35, and Sunil, 16.
