Dismantling terror network tops Govt’s agenda: Gilani

QUETTA - Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that dismantling the terror network and elimination of militancy from the country’s soil was on top of his government’s agenda.
Addressing a ceremony at the Command and Staff College here, Gilani said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led government has taken various measures to curb terrorism, which was threatening the very existence of the state when it came into power.
Referring to the military operations conducted in Swat, Malakand and other tribal reagions, where the Taliban had virtually established a parallel government, Gilani said never in the history of Pakistan such offensives were conducted to rid the country’s soil of extremists.
“People of Malakand and Swat are leading a normal life in post-operation times,” The News quoted Gilani, as adding. (ANI)
