Summary Box: US probes trapped gas pedals in Fords
FLOOR MATS AGAIN: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking into a few reports of gas pedals getting trapped by Ford floor mats in 2010 Fusions and Milans.
STACKING MATS: The problem occurs when drivers stack all-weather floor mats on top of the mats that come with their cars. The pedal can get trapped by mats. Ford and NHTSA are warning drivers not to stack them.
FAMILIAR PROBLEM: Toyota issued several massive recalls over similar problems. But there are only three complaints in the Ford case, and no reports of crashes or injuries.
