Coopers Beach Tops The Dr. Beach List

SOUTHAMPTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The Coopers Beach in Southampton, New York had topped this year’s list of top ten beaches enlisted by Dr. Stephen Leatherman, the director of Florida International University’s Laboratory for Coastal Research. Dr. Stephen Leatherman who is popularly known as Dr. beach came out with the compilation of the top 10 beaches for the tenth year. The list that was released on Friday includes name of the beaches like Siesta Beach of Sarasota and Key Biscayne’s Cape Florida State Park. Main Beach of East Hampton has been placed in No.5 position of the top 10 list and Dr. Stephen Leatherman says that people while planning their beach holiday can now look at East coast as well.
The Coopers Beach of Southampton, New York that lies at the east end of the Long Island no doubt deserves the number one position that it has been placed at. The beach flaunts white sands that slop towards the shoreline. It has gentle lapping waves. Apart from the amazing scenic beauty of the beach it also provides to the tourist convenient parking and other amenities.
This is not for the first time that Coopers Beach has featured in the list of top ten beaches of United States, but it is for the first time that it has grabbed the number one position. Dr. Stephen Leatherman said no Friday that he takes under consideration many factors to declare the No.1 beach. Not only the quality of the water but aspects like temperature, weather, cleanliness, sand along with safety and other facilities fort eh tourists play a major role in deciding its position in the list. The position of the beach in the top-ten list becomes important as the listing increases the tourist footfall to the beach to a large extent.
