Bold base strike shows Taliban’s rising resolve

WASHINGTON - This weekend’s twin-pronged attack on the Kandahar airfield involved the use of half a dozen small, Soviet-era missiles, showing the Talibans resolve to strike at their opponents boldly.
Various reports said several Canadians were among the wounded and two helicopters were badly damaged.
According to The Globe and Mail, the Taliban’s capacity to attack foreign troops even inside heavily fortified bases are meant to show Afghans the risks of siding with a shaky and corrupt regime in Kabul propped up by foreign troops.
Coupled with the Kandahar attacks, the Taliban has boldly struck three times in less than a week. (ANI)
