PATNA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- An audit report submitted by the officials of BSEB (Bihar State Electricity Board) Patna has revealed the fact that the Barauni Thermal Power Station worth Rs.6.50 crore involves a massive scam. Reportedly, the BSEB Patna audit report is in accordance to the scam allegations that was reported way back in the year of 2009.

Sudhir Kumar, a cashier-cum-accountant got killed in a car accident which aroused suspicion that had an investigating party being launched to look into the matter. BSEB Patna has submitted their final long audit of 174 pages. BSEB Patna has also urged that the state should take strong measures against all the corrupt officials and make sure that the interest sum is being retrieved. It was said that the scam didn’t only involve the cashier alone but some of the top governing officials of BSEB were also actively involved. BSEB Patna audit report depicts that the officials who were deployed at the time of scam included all account officers, Deputy Director Of Accounts, and the Director Of Finance himself.

The BSEB Patna Audit strongly underlines the fact that all officials are equally guilty in accordance to the BSEB Financial and Accounts Code. This is true in case of the officials who have actually gone ahead to use BSEB board money to be used for their own expenditure. The scam issue was recently highlighted as one of the chief and unattended issues under the state legislature. Following that the Bihar Legislative Council and the Energy Minister said that there has been reports of some major financial disputes in the plant of Barauni. It was then announced that the investigating officials of the BSEB Patna shall look into the matter and present their audit report to the board.
