Summary Box: McDonald’s says Ronald stays
RETIRE RONALD?: An advocacy group wants McDonald’s Corp. to retire Ronald McDonald because they say the clown encourages kids to eat unhealthy food.
BRAND AMBASSADOR: McDonald’s executives quickly dismissed the idea, saying the red-haired clown is a “force for good” and an important ambassador for the company, its brand and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
NOT GIVING UP: Representatives from Corporate Accountability International say they’ve gotten nearly 10,000 people to support the retirement push. And they don’t plan to give up their campaign.
