DHANPUNJI - Relatives of a couple killed by Maoists in the Chingawaram area of Chhattisgarh have blamed the police for the incident.
Laxminarayan Sethia, the brother of deceased Srinarayan Sethia said: “Civilians become victims only because of the policemen travelling in the bus.
“The administration has debarred security personnel from travelling with civilians and despite these orders of not allowing them to use public transport they (police) were made to travel on the rooftop of the bus,” he added.
“We just hope the government comes out in support of the victim’s families. It will be good for their children. If they get some employment or something, then at least these children can earn their livelihood,” Sethia said.
Srinarayan Sethia and his wife Dhirmani Sethia were travelling from Bijapur to Dornapal village, when Maoists blew up the bus in which they were traveling near Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.
The bus was carrying 20 special police officers (SPO) and over 30 civilians. (ANI)
