Summary Box: Metals, energy give up morning gains
EURO LEADS: A late-day drop in the euro has eaten into morning gains in the commodities market. Most metals settled off their intraday highs, while gains in energy prices were wiped out.
COPPER HOLDS UP: Copper was one of the biggest gainers among metals. It climbed back above $3 a pound, day after it slipped below that psychological threshold for the first time since February.
LONG-RANGE FORECAST: Analysts say the euro is likely to fall further in the coming months. That means the recent trend of falling commodity prices could continue.
