Akshaya Tritiya: Police Mass Marriage

NAVI MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- As the nation swings into the celebrations of Akshaya Tritiya, Navi Mumbai police is organizing a mass marriage which shall witness the marriage of fellow police officers from the department itself. The unique marriage plan was proposed by the officials of Navi Mumbai Police when they came to learn that many police officers has not being able to settle the knot owing to their tight work schedule. The officials finally decided among themselves and chose Akshaya Tritiya to be the special day these police officers shall enter the wedlock.
When asked about the unique Akshaya Tritiya mass marriage plan, Gulabrao Pol who happens to be the Navi Mumbai commissioner of police told the media that the marriage shall witness a total of 19 couples. The Belapur Police Headquarters shall serve as the marriage venue where friends and family members shall be present to offer their good wishes and blessings to the newly married couples.
The police commissioner is also of the opinion that the department owes a lot to the officers who have been sincere and honest to their duties over years. As a matter of fact the 19 officers who are getting married on Akshaya Tritiya were all stationed without any leaves owing to the recent IPL (Indian Premier League) cricket tournamnet and the municipal elections. The offcials held a meeting and finally hit upon the idea of a mass marriage which shall be funded by the Police Welfare Fund. Some officials of the department said that the mas marriage shall also end all evils of marriage like dowry and also cut short on heavy expenditures. They believe that in a way the Akshaya Tritiya mass marriage shall be a token of appreciation from the department towards their sincere officers.
