Summary Box: Gold dips as investors take profit
GOLD PROFITS: Gold fell slightly Thursday as investors took some profits a day after the metal hit a new record. Gold has been climbing sharply throughout the month.
SILVER RECORD: Silver hit a record high for the second straight day, but has since retreated. July silver rose as high as $19.845 an ounce.
NATURAL GAS CLIMBS: Natural gas, unlike other energy contracts, rose after a report showed there are fewer reserves that predicted.
