WYOMING (GaeaTimes.com)-Braille which happens to be a disappearing business in recent times shall soon find its new dealers from Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution. Reportedly, the prison house inmates shall soon engage themselves in producing Braille for the blind. The very program gains ground in accordance to the WYMCI department of Corrections who came up with this proposal to redeem the production of Braille and also to give a chance for the inmates to make money out of it.
As the program sets in, the WYMCI Warden Mike Murphy went ahead to put his stamp of approval in the Prison Community Partnership Committee Plan. The warden is of the opinion that he has witnessed many a prison house inmate who have gone ahead to take up Braille making as a profession and make quite a good living out of it. Accordingly he hopes to see the same for his inmates as well.
As told to the media the inmates shall start making Braille in form of books and magazines which will soon follow with the making of Braille restaurant menus with maps and music tapes that shall also be produced in the form of Braille. It was also said that the idea of making Braille first came from five inmates of the prison house who had once worked on the same thing in at a Braille production facility for the state. With the production of Braille from Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution the state of Wyoming shall emerge to be 21st state which has ventured into Braille material production coming out of a correctional facility. As a matter of fact, Iowa was one of the first American states to have come up with Braille production from a prison house.
