BSF seizes 4 kg heroin, 20 packets of counterfeit currency

KHAMKARAN - Border Security Force personnel has seized four kilograms of heroin and counterfeit currency notes of Rs. 500 denomination from 151/1 BOP Nooranwala of Khemkaran sector near India - Pakistan International border.

Deputy Inspector General of the Border Security Force, Ferozpur Range, Rajesh Gupta told media that acting on a secret information, the BSF carried out a search operation and recovered four packets of heroin weighing one kg each, worth rupees 20 crores and 20 packets of Rs.500 fake currency notes from the agriculture land near Indo-Pak Border.

Gupta said it could be an attempt of the suspected Pakistani smugglers who ran away towards Pakistan and abandoned the consignment when the security personnel of BSF challenged them during Sunday mid-night. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
