Summary Box: Unvarnished lets unnamed peers judge

NO SECRETS: A new site called Unvarnished lets your colleagues at work say what they really think of you. Imagine LinkedIn, but with anonymous reviews. Or think of Yelp, but with a person, not a business, getting reviewed.

STILL DEVELOPING: The site, www.getunvarnished.com, is in a private “beta” test. It’s not yet clear when it will be widely rolled out.

WHAT IT MEANS: Right now, to write or see any reviews, you have to be invited by a user and write a review of him or her. It also means that people could be writing reviews about you, and you wouldn’t know unless someone who can access the site told you.
