D.Sivanandan, the Mumbai Police Commissioner told the media that Mumbai police can’t promise to prevent any attack but when in need, Mumbai police is ready to confront any situation no matter the odds or the enemy. Reportedly, the Mumbai police chief was attending the 11th celebration event for AGNI (NGO Action for Good Governance and Networking in India). As a matter of fact, Mumbai police have gone ahead to recruit skilled troops with the very best of security equipments following the 26/11 attack. Mumbai police has 39 assault teams who makes use of deadly weapons like 9mm carbines and AK-47 which they think are the only weapons which can help them to fight back the terrorists.
Mumbai police has also gone ahead to increase and strengthen the coastal security by bringing in amphibian vehicle called “Sealegs”. Besides the Goa police have also delivered eight special boats coming from Goa Shipyard and more 29 boats will be soon reaching Mumbai police. To makes sure that the city balance is not disturbed in the wake of the terrorist threats, Mumbai police have issued orders to all monorail project contractors to go ahead and connect all Close Circuit TVs’ to the Mumbai police control room.
