1991: Became vice president of portfolio acquisitions and ventures for GE Capital Commercial Real Estate, where he became president and CEO in 1993.

1989: Became president and managing director of GE Japan.

1983: Became a member of GE’s corporate audit staff and corporate business development team.

1980: Joined General Electric Co. as a member of the company’s Financial Management Program.

COMPENSATION:

Total annual compensation valued at nearly $6.9 million in 2009, up 91 percent from the previous year, according to an Associated Press calculation of figures disclosed in a regulatory filing.
