NEW DELHI - To celebrate the 60th year of diplomatic relations between India and China, the Festival of China was held here on Tuesday.

The China Festival in India was attended by Sun Jiazheng, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s and Political Consultative Conference from People’s Republic of China, and Minister of Tourism, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja.

The festival was inaugurated with a performance by the Shenzhen Symphonic Orchestra, a 160-member Buddhist orchestra group from China.

The Orchestra presented the ‘Harmony of the Divine Land’ at the Purana Qila.

“India and China are world’s two oldest civilizations and have co-existed in peace and harmony for millennia. Our cultural and trade relations via the Silk Route have deepened our bonds of friendship and respect for each other’s civilizational ethos, wisdom and cultural heritage,” said Selja. (ANI)
