During a conference call with analysts to discuss AirTran’s first-quarter financial results Wednesday, CEO Robert Fornaro addressed the merger chatter involving United Airlines, Continental Airlines and US Airways.
QUESTION: What impact would a United combination with Continental or US Airways have on AirTran?
RESPONSE: “Any of these potential deals can create benefit for us. AirTran has done very well in small- to mid-size cities.”
