ESSEX, UK (GaeaTimes.com)- The three rare breed of sheep pigs that have arrived at the Essex zoo have been drawing several excited remarks from the viewers. The viewers are at a loss to understand whether these are pigs or sheep. The truth is that it is a rare species of pigs that resemble sheep closely. The three Mangalitza sheep-pigs have their origin at Hungary and Austria. The authorities and officials at the Tropical Wings Zoo of Essex are pretty excited about the arrival of three cute pigs. The pigs have been named as Buddy, Margot, Porsche. The pigs have been brought in the zoo as an endeavor to save the species from extinction.

The sheep pigs are mistaken as sheep by a large number of people because of the sheep like coat they have on their body. The coat is helpful for the pigs. In summer it saves them from getting sun burnt. In winter they can survive the chilling weather at hilly region because of this coat on their body. The pigs look cute partly owing to their large ears which cover their eye at times. This breed has a connection with the now extinct Lincolnshire curly coat breed. There was a time when the Lincolnshire curly coat breed was available in Europe and people liked their meat.

The Essex zoo authorities believe their efforts to conserve the species of pigs will turn out to be successful and soon next generation of the pigs will arrive. Among the 3 sheep pigs, Buddy resembles a sheep the closest because of his blonde fur.
