DGFT Approves Bulletproof BMW

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- In the wake of death threats being issued to merchants and industrialists, many prominent business owners have gone ahead to ask for police protection from the government. Some have even gone ahead to armor themselves by shelling out heavy cash to buy bullet proof cars. Now any such heavy imports would take place in accordance to the permission granted by the DGFT (Directorate General Of Foreign Trade). Recently, DGFT has finally given its stamp of approval for Kumar Mangalam Birla who had gone ahead with a request to DGFT for letting him import a bullet proof BMW.

It is being said that recently, the millionaire industrialist has received death threats and he is worried that something ill or odd might happen to his family. Fearing death, he had submitted his papers of request to the office of DGFT asking them to grant him the permission to import a bullet proof car. DGFT have gone ahead to think over the matter and have finally approved Kumar Mangalam Birla’s request. DGFT told the media that the bullet proof BMW which is to be imported from Germany will be used solely for personal needs of Kumar Mangalam Birla and his family members. As speculated the bullet proof BMW which the Birla’s will be importing is an overpriced machine which ranges above 2 crores.

DGFT has been into talks with the Home Ministry who has issued a “No Objection Certificate” which approves of the import. DGFT granted permission to Hindalco Industries which shall be importing the bullet proof car BMW 760 Li from Germany that is to be used only by Kumar Mangalam Birla and his family.
