Luci Baines Johnson Hospitalised

DALLAS (GaeaTimes.com)- Luci Baines Johnson, the youngest daughter of former President Lyndon B. Johnson was on Friday shifted from the Austin hospital to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. On Saturday the personal physician of Luci Baines Johnson, Dr. Dudley Youman said to the media that the former is receiving intravenous gamma globulin treatment which according to the personal physician will help improve the immune condition of the body which is deteriorating due to the disease. He also added that tests are still being conducted on Luci Baines Johnson and she is being monitored 24 hours. Luci Baines Johnson’s husband, her four children along with her sister are with her at the hospital according to the family spokesperson.

Luci Baines Johnson was first admitted to an Austin hospital on Wednesday as she was suffering from an “extreme weakness” in her legs and arms. She had prior to the onset of the disease suffered from a mild viral illness along with sore throat. However her condition deteriorated on Wednesday when she was hospitalized. Doctors attending to Luci Baines Johnson in the Austin hospital carried out extensive tests and thought it better to shift the patient. She was on Friday flown to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. In Mayo Clinic she was kept in the Neuro-intensive care unit.

Dr. Dudley Youman mentioned to the media that Luci Baines Johnson has not suffered from any such kind of ailment before in her life. She had according to him maintained a good health. He also added that though the recovery from the present disease will not be fast, but in most of the cases patients recover from the disease completely.
