Eight injured in Bangalore generator blast

BANGALORE - At least eight people were injured in two separate explosions near Chinnaswamy Stadium is Bangalore on Saturday evening.

According to initial reports, a generator went off causing damages to building as well as people around it.

Police and rescue teams have reached the spot.

City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari himself leading the operations.

Bomb squads and sniper dogs were also pressed into operation to sanitise the area and to ascertain presence of explosive materials.

A huge crowd was out side the stadium to witness Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Bangalore Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians teams.

All injured people were rushed to hospitals for further treatment.
